A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley
By Israel Horovitz
December 10, 11, 12, 2009
Famous the world over, the
ghostly but ultimately heart-warming story of Ebenezer Scrooge, and
his change of heart towards Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and the rest is
known well enough by all to need no description. Israel Horovitz's
adaptation of the classic Dickens tale follows the original closely,
but, in bringing it to life on the stage, adds the ghost of Jacob
Marley in a narrative role, observing Scrooge's failings or
progress, making colorful observations and arranging for new shocks
to his partner's system. The end result is a delightful evening of
theatre for people of all ages.
So come and celebrate the Holiday Season with the Cratchit family! A
Christmas Carol will bring joy to your heart, and you and your
family will leave the theater not uttering “bah humbug” but wishing
all “God bless us, everyone!”
A Christmas Carol features a live orchestra and holiday carols sung
by the ensemble, making this a holiday treat that you and your
family won’t want to miss!
