Beirut Planting Roofs

Beirut Planting Roofs is the newest experiment by Ziad Abichaker, The “Rubbish King”, the place he’s teaming up with the American College of Beirut to put in vertical planters made out of Eco-board panels on a rooftop and use waste materials to provide an edible crop.

In less complicated phrases, right here’s what they did:

– Use 12 vertical planting buildings constituted of eco-boards, the equal of 10,600 plastic luggage.
– Used 1200 Kg of mature compost obtained from the composting strategy of 2500 Kgs of meals luggage.
– After 41 days, every plant held 188 lettuces

In whole, over 2000 lettuces had been produced over a 50 sqm space.
