Last week, an exhibition of photographs of Maria Kozhanova ' s " Zalinized Exclusion " was opened in the Zaraa Memorial Hall, the main heroes of which were the Kaliningrad cospleters. New You were unable to resist the incredible images and special attitude of the cosples towards the costume, so they visited the opening of the exhibition and spoke with Maria Kozhanova, as well as with two distinguished representatives of the Kalininingrad Cosple of Nasty and Katai.
Cosple (Angl. costume play) is a costume game that emerged in Japan in an animal and manga fans, but quickly became popular entertainment in the world. The main purpose of the cosples is to make sure that the fake character, his suit, his makeup and his extra attributes are fully operational.
Maria Kozhanova, author of the " Claimed Exclusion " project: The project's best not to listen or read - it's better to see, because I think I've got my idea in my pictures. At least those people who have the idea what a cosple is.
The most frequent question about my pictures is some designer? It has to be explained that cosples are a subculture that has existed for a long time since people " got animated " on the cassettes.
I've always been interested in animation-- the Japanese subject and brought me down with cospiers a few years ago. We evolved in parallel: I'm in the picture, they're in my art. Not everyone who likes animos is turning into cosples: those who can paint are starting to do their own animation, who can sew, making costumes... Although it is often different, people are specially learning to sew to do a rash.
I'm interested in this phenomenon lately because in Russian It's very nice. A high percentage of NFN: scenarios in which cosples are involved, it is difficult to see and understand if you are not from this environment. But I was just struck by their images, so contrasting with our reality. They were the ones who led me to the project " Declared Exclusion " .
